Des Moines College buildings at the corner of 9th and College. Original Nash Hall on left. This property was previously a Lutheran college. Des Moines College was a precursor to Des Moines University. "[It] is the oldest educational institution in Des Moines. It was incorporated in 1865, but had existed for years prior... The college has three departments: the Academy, the College, and Music."
