Caption: Eighteen-year-old Vicki Jones of Des Moines admires the hand wood carvings that adorn "Cherry Place," a home built in the 1880s on the northeast corner of Grand Avenue and East Twelfth Street in Des Moines. The structure will so be razed to provide room for an expansion of the Statehouse grounds.
