Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) Elizabeth Jarrard

Original caption: "Aux. Elizabeth Jarrard, A-800763. Gas Attendant Motor Pool. 71st Post Hqs. Co., H.R.P.E. home, Hot Springs, Arkansas; enlisted 5 January 1943. Has had four weeks basic, six weeks Motor Transport School, Fort Des Moines, Iowa. Her reason for enlisting was: "She is married, has a son that is a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy. A daughter who is the wife of a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army, so felt she would like to do her part in helping her country." Her duties at H.R.P.E. require dispensing gas and oil, checking radiators and batteries.
